Almost Springtime Holey-ness in Tallahassee

A paper wasp's nest lies still on the ground

Magnolia tree hole swallows the sound

 Of footsteps approaching Trillium treasure

Twisted tree roots, untwisted, what would they measure?

A woodpecker's flute flung to the floor

Leaf veins laid bare for lacy decor

A stream carves a bit deeper its bedrock of limestone

One violet we see, for now all alone

"We share a walk, a life, a love, a moment,"
SAM and I say--
Thirty-one years together,
Forever,
Today

  5. Yes Happy Anniversary! And admiting my general geographic ignorance I always wondered what your Big Bend (over easy) was. Now I know. We stayed at a B&B on our way home fomr Fort Myers for a few days. it was really nice. We'll go back their next winter and do some more exploring along the Gulf Coast.

  11. Thank you all! SAM took the day off yesterday, and we had a great time doing one of our favorite things in the woods. My legs ache! Hehe!

  12. Congratulations to you and SAM! Buck and I just celebrated our 27th on 2/17. His 1st marriage was 25 (almost 26) years; mine was 11. People used to say he had gone "middle-aged crazy" when he married me. Ha! He who laughs, lasts...

Your photos and accompanying words are fantastic. I think my favorite is the woodpecker's flute.

Happy 31 years of wedded bliss. It has all been bliss right? Just joking, happy anniversary to you both and many more long walks in the woods and along water edge...

  15. Congratulations to you and Buck, Elizabeth! You're so right about laughing. It's been our "glue" that's held us together for so long. The flute's my fave too.

Skeeter, we were doing deep knee bends, I'll have you know. Or at least I was with the camera at times. Yes, it's all been bliss, and you know I never lie. Thanks!

Thank you, Rose. We had a great day, probably one of my favorite anniversaries ever.

  22. Ms. Wolfe, thanks so much for helping me break the barrier or leap the hurdle.

Thank you, Ms. Heather. I'm glad you liked the post.

Ms. NJ, I noticed the faintest hint of green shoots in some pecan trees this past weekend. Or maybe I was just imagining it--wishful thinking. It has been nice and warm the past several days, and my spring flowers are blooming.

Thanks, Ms. Elizabeth! You've given me an idea for a future post with the one you posted recently. Isn't blogging grand?

I'm so glad you enjoyed the post, Mr. Talha. Thanks for visiting.

Well, Tomz, thank you! I hope you're right about many more years together with my SAM. Thirty-one more? That's a pretty tall order, but we'll try for it.

Thank you, Mr. SM. I'm glad you enjoyed them.
